Among Us, the developer teases a new art style and bigger lobbies in a future update

Among Us, an updated art style, bigger lobbies, and more new features.

According to post on the game’s Itch.io page, the team is currently developing a new art style for the game. Don’t worry though, as Innersloth has reassured fans that “it’s not too different from what you’re used to” and that it will only feature cleaner lines and other animation improvements. They also plan to increase the size of lobbies, so up to 15 friends (or foes) can play the social deduction game together at the same time.

The update also notes that the team has been working hard to bring more color options to the game, noting that: “considering all the colors we already have, it was actually quite difficult to find colors that will automatically be visually distinct from all others.” However, they are committed to improving accessibility options and ultimately “hope to move away from colors as the defining way people identify themselves”.

The developer also mentioned working on a new meeting screen for larger lobby sizes. The developers promised “a new intro when meetings are called that accentuate the information between the reporter and who exactly died between rounds” and shared a concept image of what it could look like. For the upcoming final update, Innersloth also said they are working on revamping their entire website to give players a more centralized place for updates and news.

Among Us originally launched in 2018 and recently introduced a brand new map for players, The airship. The game has become very popular since its release gained nearly half a billion mobile gamers in 2020 and is even streamed by famous video game faces like several members of the Resident Evil cast.
